| The Janesville Nighthawks (originally Mustangs) were established in the early spring of 2009. The initial founder was unable to deal with the obstacles of starting a new team and passed the franchise to Topher Diehl. Since the name was already in motion, Topher stuck with it for the 2009 season. But in 2010 we flew out of the gate as the JANESVILLE NIGTHAWKS! |

The Nighthawks started as members of the Gridiron Football League
- an 8-man, arena style, full contact semi-pro (amateur) game that's
played on full regulation fields with only a few NFL rules changed.
Our players simply play out of love for the game, especially since
semi-pro (amateur) players pay to be in the league and must supply
their own equipment.

When the GFL voted the Mustangs into the league
in the league in April of 2009, we were assumed to
be just a filler team to even out the conference. No
one expected much from us since the team had
less than 3 weeks to prep. However, we finished our
season with a 3-7 record using an average of 13
players per game! Several of our players had to
play both offense and defense the entire game.

We are a men's adult amateur football team that plays in the Great Midwest Football
League. Volunteers his or her time for the game we love. We play fully padded, full
throttle, hard hitting, fast action football. We are a team that will play with
everything we have from the first snap to the from the first snap to the - - final
whistle. We expect all of our final players, staff members & volunteers players, staff
members & volunteers to be leaders on and off the field. Our mission is two-fold:
Football & Community. We stride to set examples for younger athletes with our
talent, sportsmanship, determination and dedication. We also hope to set examples
in the community by showing strong character traits such as respect, service, and
involvement. The Janesville Nighthawks are not your average football team. We
won't settle for just a good time on the football field - we are committed individuals
to the sport of life!
